Biography

Jung Doo-hong (born December 14, 1966) is a South Korean action director, martial arts choreographer, stunt coordinator, and actor.

Jung Doo-hong is the most highly recognized action director and action actor in Korea, and a pioneer who cultivated the field of Korean movie action since the 1990s the tradition of action was severed. He started his film career as a stuntman for The Generals Son(1990), and debuted as a martial arts director in 1992 for Sirasoni. Through continuous efforts and strict management, he has remained in the center of Korean movie action for 20 years, still directing action for 4~6 movies each year. Jung was responsible for designing the street shooting in Swiri, wrestling in The Foul King, the continental spectacle action in The Good, the Bad, the Weird, the gore action in I Saw The Devil. Almost all of his action attempts have been the first of its kind. A professional boxer, Jung established [Seoul Action School] to keep the tradition of action directing alive by nurturing students. In Arahan(2004), he played a substantial role for an action actor and the main character in The City of Violence.
